Massachusetts State Inspections in Norwell, MA

All vehicles registered in Massachusetts are subject to the Massachusetts Vehicle Check Program for safety inspections and emissions testing. A vehicle must pass its inspection at a certified inspection station. At Joseph's Garage, we are licensed to perform vehicle safety inspections and emissions testing.

MA Safety Inspection Overview

Massachusetts requires that the following items to be reviewed and/or tested:

An annual emissions inspection is also required for vehicles with onboard diagnostic systems manufactured after model year 2008.

Passing and Failing

You will receive a new inspection sticker after your vehicle passes inspection. In the event your vehicle fails inspection, you will need to have it repaired and pass a reinspection. You can have your vehicle re-inspected for free if the retest is performed at the original inspection station. Drivers are entitled to one free re-test.
